Misty Mysery is both a soldier of Arachnos and a member of The Libra Order.

Character History

"Misty Mysery" is not her real name. It's the name that she took because she wanted to be someone better.

Early Years

She was born and raised in the Rogue Isles, and she learned early on that she can either be a predator or forever be prey.

When she was in her early teens, she was approached to become a soldier of Arachnos. The man that recruited her was slimy and a predator and treated her like an object to conquer, but he would later tell her that it was the only way to tell if Misty would be a predator or prey. She fought his advances at every corner and emerged stronger.

She cut off all ties to her family and friends and adopted the name "Misty Mysery" to reflect her transformation.

She learned that her trainers were all the worst of the worst from every military branch in the world. They were harsh, brutal, sadistic, and especially predatory when it came to female recruits. Like her recruiter, they would all claim that the experiences would make her "tougher" and "stronger". They were right to some extent.

As a loyal soldier, rising in the ranks was easy if you were ruthless enough. If your superior was sloppy, an "accident" could happen. If they were too "hands-on", they could be killed in self-defense. Such was the life of an SoA. And Misty made sure that she was "promoted" frequently enough.

Order Recruit

After her first two "promotions", she was approached by Tainted Eve to join the Libra Order. Being recruited to join an allied group like the Order was another kind of "promotion" for Misty, as she was "officially" there to spy on the Order so they would not act contrary to the benefit of Arachnos. But it was also a way for Arachnos to keep Misty from "rising in the ranks" too fast, since her work with the Order does not count as part of her review as a soldier of Arachnos.

Working on orders from Libra, Misty was required to provide a blood sample. She had no idea that this would be used to give DNA to Omega Shift, a shapeshifter working for the Guardians of the Dawn, and that it would be used to impersonate her and infiltrate a key installation for the Rogue Isles Infrastructure.

When the activity was detected, it was traced back to Misty. Because it interfered with a deal he was looking forward to, and because it involved putting Grandville on high alert as Galatea Powers stormed the capitol, Lord Recluse personally oversaw the punishment. Misty was subjected to a beat-down by the roughest Wolf-Spiders in Arachnos. The brutality was so severe she was in the hospital for a week. Afterwards, she was demoted two levels.

As she lay in the hospital, with her broken body slowly mending, all she could think about was revenge.

First Revenge

Misty's first opportunity at revenge came when the Guardians held a rare public audition for new members. She brought in a specialist that worked for Arachnos as an embedded agent to lure the Guardians to her. She was hoping it would bring Omega Shift, but instead it only brought in Whyspera and a young rock-based hero named Rocky Rockrocker. The two were able to defeat Misty, although Libra intervened to rescue her, leaving only the Arachnos agent.

Misty begged for another opportunity, but she was rejected. Further, because she involved an imbedded agent and it resulted in him being exposed, Arachnos demoted her yet again.

Second Revenge

Her second opportunity for revenge came on the guise of something nefarious.

In 2013, Tainted Eve ordered Misty to infiltrate a charity event in Atlas Park. She went there as "Sally Sunday", a softcore porn actress. Her target was a woman named Wendy Spyre, a talented young singer. Misty soon discovered through her singing that Wendy was really Whyspera. She waited until Wendy was somewhere private and used an ultrasonic weapon on her. The device triggered Wendy's mutant power, as well as the mutant power of the man she was with at the time. Wendy was severely injured.

As Misty made her quick exit, she located PNN Reporter April Ramirez as part of a "side mission" from Mistress Libra. She plowed into the reporter and knocked her down, giving her a concussion.

She did not know that April was really Omega Shift. She had carried out both targets for revenge in one evening. Her "Debt of Honor" was paid in full.

When Arachnos superiors discovered what she did, and her role in creating division in the Guardians, they broke protocol concerning working for allied groups and reinstated her two levels in rank.

Powers and Training

Misty Mysery's primary ability is her Arachnos Training. She survived rigorous training from sadists and survived.

Her secondary ability is Arachnos Gadgets. As a Soldier of Arachnos, she has access to the advanced devices created by Dr. Aeon that give a human like her the edge.

Misty is a sociopath, having no morals in a nation run by amoral people. To her, everything is about power and control. She is concerned about advancement because it gives her "respect".

She considers every man to be a predator. She considers every woman to be a threat. She sees threats and conspiracies at every corner.

Related Information

According to creator David 2, Misty Mysery was based on the softcore film actress Misty Mundae[1]. In fact, the actress's early works served as the "cover" story for the character in a mission shown "The Libra Order: Debts of Honor".
