Philly Buster was the name of a hero-turned-villain in the world of Champions Online MMO.
Character History
Heroic History
After serving a tour with the Army, Emily Streeter came back to her hometown of Chicago only to find her neighborhood crime-ridden. She, along with some of her friends from the service, became street-level vigilantes to free the area from gangs and drugs. They each became registered heroes through PRIMUS, with Emily using her squad nickname "M-Street" as her codename.
They put an end to the gangs and the drug-dealers in the area and they were just making a name for themselves when they were convinced to sign with the Gold Standard Agency.
As the only female of the team, Emily was offered to pose for "Capes and Boots" Magazine, but she quickly refused, along with their continual offers to "remake" her image. That pretty much killed any "potential" for the team overall with the agency.
Missing Time
For some reason, the team was recruited for a classified mission. The details of this mission is still unknown.
Philly Buster
Years later, Emily showed up in Millennium City, this time under the codename Philly Buster. Much like her teammate, Foreclosure, she lured Galatea Future into a meeting by threatening hostages. Just like Foreclosure, she was dying. Just like Foreclosure, she was planning to goad Galatea into attacking her, which would rupture the suicide vials implanted in her body and kill her.
However, just prior to implementing her plan, Emily started "hearing voices". She thought it was just the side-effects of treating her terminal disease. It turned out she was developing telepathic powers. Being unprepared for this new power, Emily was unable to fully carry out her plan when Galatea Future did arrive. Not only was she distracted, but another telepath managed to shut down her mind long enough to be put in custody.
While in the hospital, she was visited by two people. The first was Starlett, who was working for Project Mycroft. The second visitor did not leave a name, but Emily knew who that person was, and she welcomed being killed.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Emily was suffering from the same terminal illness as Foreclosure.
Powers and Abilities
Philly Buster was trained in automatic weapons from the Army. She stayed in shape, but she was unprepared for having telepathic abilities.
