- Griff, aka "Mister Blue"
Mister Blue is the name of a blue lupine-humanoid that first appeared in "Future's Guardian".
Character History
The being calling himself "Mister Blue" was first seen in Millennium City witnessing a confrontation between Starlett and members of the New Purple Gang. Afterward he approaches Starlett and asks her for assistance finding Galatea Future. Starlett says she is also looking for Galatea and offers to check for her status through a nearby SOCRATES terminal.
Upon discovering that Galatea is currently engaged in an assault from the terrorist group VIPER, Starlett suggests the two of them go to help her. "Blue", however, turns down the suggestion and inquires if SOCRATES could find where Galatea lives. Starlett says the database does not have that information, but he could always check with Galatea's attorney, Candace Sinclair. When "Blue" again refuses to provide assistance to Galatea and says he will instead seek out her attorney, Starlett confronts "Blue" about his intentions.
"Blue" then admits that he is really an assassin-for-hire sent to kill Galatea Future. Starlett tries to stop him, but he quickly overpowers her and critically injures her. After gloating about her lack of skill, "Blue" leaves her dying on the concrete.
Starlett's body was found by a street vendor, and she was rushed to the hospital where she made a gradual recovery.
Immediately afterward, "Blue" disappeared. Even though several heroes, including and especially Galatea Future, were on round-the-clock manhunts for him, the large being was nowhere to be found.
A few weeks later, Galatea Future was approached by Agent Sidestep and was told vital information about "Blue".
It turned out that "Blue" is really a multiverse assassin named Griff, and that he specializes in tracking down targets from other realities. It is not known who hired Griff, but whomever did knew that Galatea came from another universe and wanted her precise location found.
While Galatea utilized this new information about him, Griff managed to steal technology from Kevin Poe and use it to find where Galatea normally spends most of her time at. He found himself at the penthouse of Athena Rose Fairmore and discovered where Candace Sinclair was hiding.
Using Miss Sinclair as bait, Griff lured Galatea to a Westside warehouse for a one-on-one confrontation. While he believed his intelligence combined with his superhuman strength and his body armor would give him an edge, Galatea managed to power through and had enough endurance to defeat him in a prolonged battle.
He was initially in UNTIL custody until he disappeared in a flash of light. His current location is unknown, although initial speculation was he was captured by agents of the Council of Light. That has since been ruled out. It is suspected that he was actually "rescued" by the one(s) who hired him to look for Galatea.
Powers and Abilities
"Mister Blue" is a bulky wolf-like being possessing super-strength and razor-sharp claws. His bestial nature is apparently brought out in combat.
His physical abilities are also bolstered by special body armor that he wears. This body armor allows him to conceal himself from detection as well as to enhance his physical abilities. It also has a kinetic-dampening agent designed to minimize physical attacks. While rather formidable, it could be overtaxed through prolonged combat.
Personality
In addition to his physical abilities, he considers himself to be an intellectual. He is polite and charming in conversation, sometimes to a fault. He respects those who see his intelligence, even if he has to kill them afterward.
