Robert Kaufman is a character in the world of Champions Online MMO.
He is the director of Project Greenskin, a PRIMUS operation located in Burning Sands. While he wears a military uniform, he holds no formal rank other than "Director".
Character History
Very little is known about Robert Kaufman other than he was once a member of the Golden Avengers and later the first leader of PRIMUS. After the initial threat posed by the mutant threat known as Grond, Kaufman retires from his leadership position in PRIMUS and was put in charge of the project that would take down Grond and put him in custody.
Kaufman was given wide levity to do whatever he feels is warranted to complete his mission. This became important when he realized just how extensive his responsibility would be. Soon after taking over the base that used to be Grond's home, it was under siege by mutated creatures and people who followed Grond like a cult leader. Many of the irradiated followers were already dying, but they made it their mission to attack humans and drag them further into the "hot zones"
Kaufman was forced to call for help, which he got from both UNTIL and the superhero community.
Eventually they were able to push Grond's minions back enough to rebuild the base and make it livable. But Kaufman made the decision to keep the large statue of Grond in the middle of the base as a continual reminder of why they were there.
Years later, the base is still there and Kaufman is still in charge, but there doesn't seem to be any progress. And yet... why is there so much equipment? Why are there still so many soldiers? What *is* Kaufman doing there?
Powers and Abilities
Kaufman has no superpowers (which is strange given his background). He is a skilled officer and certainly knows how to give orders.
Personality
Kaufman is a no-nonsense kind of administrator. He expects his orders to be followed without question or challenge.
According to certain sources, Kaufman only takes one weekend off every-other month to play golf with the President of the United States.
