Requiem is a villain in the now-defunct City of Heroes MMO.

He was the leader of the Fifth Column as well as the leader of the Council until the rise of the Reichsman.

Character History

He was born Ridolfo Uzzano, and the young Italian had dreams of being a priest. But it was his investigation on behalf of the Vatican that led him to a secret power that chose him for leadership.

Ridolfo merged with a Nictus Kheldian known as the Dirge of Entropy. Little is known about the Nictus being other than he is very powerful and formidable. But now, after the merge, they became something so more powerful and more durable. They became Requiem.

Once merged, he presented himself to Italy's brutish leader, Benito Mussolini. But il Duce was not impressed. At least not at first. But once Requiem eliminated all of Mussolini's enemies, he was sold.

Requiem became part of the invasion force that their Axis ally Germany would send to Paragon City in America, timed to attack at the same time as Japan's raid on Pearl Harbor. Sadly, unlike Japan's air strike, the ground attack in America failed because of the city's superheroes. Specifically the final stand by the gigantic Atlas on the bridge in Independence Port. Even though Requiem had a hand in bringing Atlas down, the order was given to retreat.

Hiding in shame, Requiem joined the other German and Italian soldiers to create the Fifth Column, an insurrection force that would sabotage city operations.

Decades later, Requiem grew tired of the leadership making what he deemed to be "bad decision" and formed his own group called the Council.

Sadly, their first strike on the city was cut short by the appearance of three lesser-known heroes: Apex, War Witch, and the Kheldian Peacebringer Horus. They forced the Council to retreat, but not without Requiem personally killing War Witch and Horus.

Requiem would later rejoin the Fifth Column after the Nazi Earth counterpart of Statesman, the Reichsman, was freed from his confinement in the ruins of Boomtown and took over the Fifth Column.

His activities are ongoing.

Powers and Abilities

As a full Nictus, Requiem's primary ability is Dark Blast. He can use dark energy as an offensive weapon.

His secondary ability is Dark Miasma. He can use his power to drain the live essences of others. He can also use it to teleport great distances.

As a Kheldian, even a dark version, he also has access to legacy forms of a "Dark Nova" or "Black Dwarf". However, Requiem would prefer to not use these forms
