"Smoke and Mirrors" is a three-part storyline in the Top Cow incarnation of the City of Heroes comic series. This is the first "named" storyline in the series, as the first three issues were dedicated to an unnamed storyline.

After dealing with a gang of Trolls, the Freedom Phalanx discover the raid is connected to an old and forgotten superhero named Breakneck and the Circle of Thorns.

As Statesman and Sister Psyche recover from their injuries, Manticore and Citadel try to protect a little brother and sister from the Circle of Thorns. Meanwhile, Positron and Synapse get the dream assignment of trying to protect a fashion model. Special appearance by Serge.

Having failed to protect the three targets, the Freedom Phalanx scrambles to find the Circle of Thorns before they can finish their spell and bring about the end of the world.

Aftermath

A statue dedicated to Breakneck and his sacrifice can be found in Kings Row in front of the Yellow Line station.

Heroes can take part in the action through Ouroboros.
