It is similar to Earth's Roman Empire in that it is ruled as a dictator-led republic fixated on conquest of all it sees.

The masses are enter tainted there through gladiatorial games where super-powered beings fight to the last.

The Dorvalan known on Earth as Ironclad initially fought in the games and was considered undefeated until he left out of disgust over how gory the games became.

Ironclad has feared that the Malvans would eventually come to Earth to claim it as it has claimed so many other worlds.
