Calvin Biselle is the mayor of Millennium City.

Some might say he is the most successful mayor in the history of the United States of America... but then again that could also just be political spin. He is, however, one of the most influential and longest serving mayors in American history, outdoing such mayoral greats as Fiorello La Guardia and Ed Koch of New York, Richard J. Daley of Chicago, and Raymond Flynn of Boston.

History

Calvin Biselle was almost born into politics. A native of Detroit, he spent much of his early years mired in school politics. He promised longer lunch times, better vending machines, and even cooler water in the fountains. He wouldn't always win, but he would continue to press for changes. He was voted "Most Likely To Be A Mayor" by his fellow students.

As a law school student, Calvin volunteered his off-time with his district's representative to the City Council, learning his way around City Hall, hoping some day to take his place in city government.

Sadly, he would get his opportunity following the devastation of the Battle of Detroit, when much of the City Council was killed, along the Mayor and most of his staff. Although an interim mayor oversaw what was left of Detroit, it was Calvin that worked hard to keep some semblance of order. When the decision was made to end Detroit itself and rebuild it into Millennium City, the voters overwhelmingly voted for Calvin to serve as their new Mayor.

In the twenty-plus years that followed, Calvin has done everything he can to keep the voters content and happy. While they are not always happy, they certainly have been content enough to keep re-electing him despite numerous challenges.

Criticisms As Mayor

While Calvin has been re-elected as mayor over and over again, his programs and policies are not always popular.

Critics continue to voice their displeasure at his "Open Hero" policy when it comes to superheroes in Millennium City. While the presense of numerous heroes in the city have led to a decrease in crime, the damages done by hero-versus-villain activity has negated much of the so-called "Hero Bonus" from the cuts in neccessary police funding. Added incarcerations by heroes has also led to jail overcrowding, which has led to both riots and prison-breaks.

Another complaint made about Biselle is his continual use of the City Hall Square for his frequent "stump speeches". He seems to be continually making speeches at the podium at all times of the day and night, which leads one to believe that he is continually campaigning for re-election. Even the billboards promoting his re-election have remained the same for nearly twenty years.

One of the biggest critics of Mayor Biselle's policies is Sherman Adair of Adair Media. Adair has used his vast multimedia empire to target Biselle's programs and link Biselle to every tragedy involving a hero. While Adair himself refuses to run against Biselle, he has contributed heavily and used his media empire to support several of the previous challengers.
