Atomic Genie is the name of a villain in the City of Heroes MMO.
She was formerly a member of the villain group Scorned by Fate but now serves as the "travel agent" for LexieTech.
Character History
Virginia “Genie” Whitehall used to love Arabian stories. She loved the images of beautiful princesses and genies. As she got older, she learned through her private education that genies were really “Jinn”; spiritual creatures of either good or bad natures.
Around that time, she discovered that people around her were getting sick or experiencing unexplained burns and pains. She believed that she was being haunted by an evil Jinn. She had no idea that she was a mutant until she was almost eighteen and that her mutation was radiation manipulation.
As a member of the moderately-successful Whitehall family, there were some resources available for her that “ordinary people” would not be able to use. One of those was being able to flee to the Rogue Isles so she could get a better handle of her powers. This drastic move gave her the freedom to figure out what to do afterward. She decided to use these powers as a supervillain, dressing up as a harem girl and calling herself "Atomic Genie", the representation of what she loved with the power that she once thought was an evil Jinn.
For a while she was with villain group called Scorned By Fate. The group gave her the creeps. There was no teamwork. People went in and out just to use the resources of the group. She did work with Wrathstrike enough times to develop something of a "relationship" with him. But eventually that group disbanded, and she sort of knew that was going to happen.
While trying to figure out what she needed to do next, she came across an opportunity for work at LexieTech in the Aeon City office. She discovered she had a specialty for arranging travel, so she was given the unique responsibility of working in the "travel office".
Powers and Abilities
Atomic Genie's primary ability is Radiation Burst. She can project intense radioactive waves.
Her secondary ability is Thermal Radiation. She can use the intense heat from her radioactive powers as a defensive measure.
She can also use her abilities to not just fly, but also to teleport herself and other people for short distances. This is why she became a "travel specialist".
Personality
Atomic Genie has a "friends with benefits" relationship with Wrathstrike, who also was once "Scorned by Fate". This arrangement is more "benefits" than "friends". She finds Wrathstrike to be very "physical" when they are alone, and quite often she has a hard time sitting down afterward.
