Chief Clayton
Morton Clayton is the chief of the Paragon City Police Department. He first appeared in Issue #4 of the Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight series.
Character History
Morton Clayton was born and raised in New London, Connecticut. He joined the New London Police Department out of high school and eventually rose to the rank of Deputy Chief after taking charge of the city's public-funded superhero group known as The Shipyard.
Clayton took control of the Paragon City Police Department in 2008 following the "sudden" retirement of Chief Conrad Bochco. He inherited a department that was still trying to pick itself up following the Rikti Invasion of 2002 and still filled with corruption and rampant accusations of abuse of power that had plagued Bochco's administration.
Injury
In Issue #15, Chief Clayton was attacked by an unknown person wearing a modified version of Galatea Powers' covert tech-based suit. Although he put up a valiant fight, he was overcome by repeated electrical surges and was sent to Crown Memorial Hospital. In the interim, city officials contemplated bringing back Chief Bochco.
