"Nemesis Plot" is in reference to the legendary arch-villain of Paragon City, Nemesis.
Nemesis is known, for good reasons and bad, for his involvement in numerous plots and schemes involving Paragon City, going back to the Brass Monday takeover attempt in the 1930's. The more convoluted the plot, the greater the likelihood that Nemesis played a role in it to some extent.
This has led to the ever-popular exclamation of... "It's a Nemesis Plot!"
Unfortunately for the ego of the Prussian Prince of Automation, this exclamation is often used as a joke.
Examples:
- "My toaster stopped working today... it's a Nemesis Plot!"
- "My insurance company said they'd pay for my car, but not for my hospital bill." "It's a Nemesis Plot."
- "Did you hear they cancelled 'All My Minions' yesterday? Must be a Nemesis Plot."
Related Information
The use of the phrase has sparked a derogatory nickname for people who engage in elaborate conspircy theories. Such people are known as "Nemesis Plotters".
