"Hero-Shaming" is a despicable tactic where a hero is stripped of everything except their mask and then left tied up somewhere public. That hero's personal identity is later "outed" along with photos of the assault.

Victims of this practice often are forced into retirement.

The preponderance of assaults are by female heroes on other female heroes, although male-on-female assaults are not uncommon.

Recently in Paragon City, the practice is being used by members of the corrupt police officers of the Blue Dog Squad to target female heroes.
