In a universe with psychics, magic and dark energies, it is only a matter of time until these energies are analyzed (to some extent) and categorized scientifically. If the supernatural exists, then it is only a matter of time until it becomes part of the natural. In the case of the JK Comics, the author created an Expanded Model of quantum mechanics, which like its name suggests, expands on the real world Standard Model that governs all normal energies and their interactions.

Expanded Model

M Particles

M Particles are related to the arcane energies, also known as mysticism or magic. This particle exists in the fermion classification, having 1/2 integer spin. Ms are similar to quarks, whereas they appear to have six types of spins; up, down, top, bottom, charm and strange. The M particle appears to have the property to decay into any other particle, from photons to gluons, from neutrinos to even matter itself.

Currently there is no theorem for how the M particle decides what to decay into. It is hypothesized that it involves a combination of an M's type of spin in addition to the amount of energy available within the system. For instance, the ability to create a material object would require enough M particles of certain spins for them to decay into quarks (to form protons and neutrons) and electrons, in just the right quantity and configuration to form a desired form.

Ebon Particles

Ebon particles have a 1/2 integer spin, making them a fermion particle. The particle appears to always contain a negative charge or positive (anti) charge and has the unique property of absorbing photons, but never releasing any with excess energy. With the additional energy absorbed, ebons will duplicate, increasing their total quantity. This particle calls into question the concept of size in the quantum world, as to answer certain mathematical problems that arise with such analysis. It is hypothesized that a single ebon particle can grow in size, until it absorbs enough energy to duplicate itself and split in two.

Similar electrons, the negative charge of ebon particles allows them to interact with solid matter, as if they were normal matter themselves. It has been postulated that ebon particles, if bound by a positive particles with large enough mass, such as quarks as protons, could result in a form of "ebon matter".

Cole-Smythe Particles

CS particles, or properly known as Cole-Smythe particles, are a unique particle with full integer spin, placing them in the boson family of particles. CS Particles appear to be charge-less and originate from an extra-dimensional energy field. The particle appears to act as an amplifier, adding energy to other particles. This displays itself with normal particles gaining additional kinetic and/or mass energies.

The particle was discovered by Jonathan St. John Smythe as he was researching the powers of the hero Statesman, also known as Marcus Cole. The energy comes from a CS field, but Cole and others referred to it as the Well, as well as other names. The full extent to this energy, specifically what triggers normal particles to interact with the CS field, is unknown as of yet. The best Standard Model analogy would be the Higgs boson, giving mass to particles that interact with the Higgs field, but this is still not the best example.

Psy Particles

Unlike other particles here, Psy particles are hypothetical. Based on what has been learned from the other particles on this list, a particle related to psychic abilities and events is theorized to exist. This particle would have little to zero to negative mass and would therefore travel at near the speed of light, at the speed of light, or back in time at a rate related to the speed of light.

It is also believed that such a particle would interact with the electromagnetic spectrum.

A new hypothesis being tested is that a psy particle's wave function moves in or through an extra-dimensional base. This would result in what appears as the particle popping into and out of existence, as its wave-function collapses at the point of interaction in our third dimension.
