When the envirnmental extremist group known as the Devouring Earth stormed Dr. Frostburg's labs, he and his assistant were forced and locked into cryo-chambers. When finally released, the two found that the cold, mixed with random chemicals and Devouring Earth mutant spores had resulted in strange side effects. Both weilding the power of cold; one became a psychopathic villain known as Nurse Frigid, while Dr. Frostburg went down a path of heroics and a search to cure his former co-worker.
