DC Universe Online is a superhero-themed MMO owned by both Sony Computer Entertainment and WB Games.
The MMO is based on the superhero universe created and owned by DC Comics. (Note: This is the continuum that existed PRIOR to their "New 52" revision.) All characters were designed by DC Co-Publisher Jim Lee.
The MMO was officially launched on January 11, 2011 as the first-ever cross-platform MMO between Windows PC and Sony's PlayStation 3.
The MMO went from subscription-only to the hybrid free-to-play/pay-for-features/subscription-only service on November 1st, 2011.
