Blood Memory
"Blood Memory" is the idea that one's entire existence is stored in every genetic cell of that person's body.
In theory, the body is able to heal and recover from injury because every cell remembers how things were before that injury. It is believed that this is what happens when someone loses their memory and later regains it.
The idea of "blood memory" started with vampires and their ability to somehow gain knowledge and memories of their victims from their siphoning of their blood. Since vampires do not normally have telepathic abilities, this idea best explained the phenomena.
