Just so you know, spammers, in case you read the forums that you try to infest, the most notorious of you are now being banned by your names as well as your IP addresses.  Malybor is the first to have this done.  He will not be the last.

Stop trying.  You will fail.  It is that simple.  Find a new line of work.  This one will only bring you misery.

when you have comic in the title, I and I imagine others, are expecting actual comics.  Perhaps if your site segregated the comic inspired artwork from the actual comics
Thanks for you feedback Sin.
Cover posts appear on a Monday are labelled as such in the title and comics are posted on Wednesdays.
Both (and Trading Card Fridays, if and when I get round to recovering that data) are published in separate categories under the same site umbrella as per the tradition Frank established 12 years ago.

Given the both posts types are published roughly on parity, the majority of views are for the full issues and not split 50/50 across both categories, it suggests to me that visitors can and do easily discern the difference between them.
I won't argue that there's a smaller overall audience interested in the covers but with my time and energies limited and my interests currently away from games with an exploitable narrative or easily manipulated camera, covers is what I'm doing.  ;)

I have to say that ive been personally dissapointed on a number of occations when I wanted to read a comic but no comic existed. It was nice art work, but it did mislead and disaapoint me.

On the other side, when I know before hand that it isnt a real comic, but just a piece of artwork made to look like a cover, I can appreciate it as such.

Further, it is alot more work and devotion to create a full story, whether just a few pages or 30 pages, than one art work cover. Of course this depends on the quality one wishes to put to each page. The cover could take more work than all the other pages or it could be quicker than any single page within. But by definition, it is more work to do a full story than just the cover. Someone may be extremely devoted to their overall passion but to create the overall story requires a level of devotion to not just the entire series, but to an individual issue as it is extremely time consuming, or is compared to just a single page.

As for the goals of the CCC, its to help each other create stories. A simple page of art is not necessarily a story. But perhaps in conjunction with written stories, for those whom couldnt do all they would like with the game or those who cant devote enough time to creating it. It does not need to be a stereotypical piece of work, however one thing that the essence of all comics have is being amalgam art. Like tv or movies. Comics are written art mixed with drawn art. Written doesnt necessarily mean words, mine you. But single pieces of art without caption or context are not often comics.

TK, I was actually upset when I couldnt find comics to your covers. I felt mislead, especialky given the url title. Thats a compliment to your covers because they did what covers are suppose to do, very well, and thats make me want to read the story.
The negative is I stopped trying to find actual issues on your site. In the past, whenever I want covers without issues, ive gone to art sites and im not dissapointed or feeling mislead. But when you have comic in the title, I and I imagine others, are expecting actual comics.  Perhaps if your site segregated the comic inspired artwork from the actual comics, I would not have felt the way I did and would have possibly made it a habit to return often.

I have no problem with comic inspired art or alternative comic inspired work, like written stories on the comic index, as long as they are properly labeled as art or written. The default of the site and group is comics, though. To read them and how to make them.

The creative player only came up with a faux comic cover instead of a full-blown comic.
Emphasis mine, but I find the qualifier used in this statement reductive.
Since even before my stewardship CoH COMICS has always had a policy of welcoming all submissions, comics, covers, trading cards and simple screenshots of situations that people found in that game and any other.
The suggestion in this editorial that the artwork we and our fellow hobbyists produce have any need to meet a "standard" in terms of quality or output to be considered worthy of being part of any community of creators is the complete antithesis of the goals the CCC site should be promoting and to present the commentary I've taken the above quote from as "news" is entirely disingenuous.

it doesn't even begin to compare with the work that goes into a complete publication.
I've been creating some Old Republic related images recently for which the workflow across...  six, no, seven... separate applications has been an insane amount of effort for one of those cheap fromages  ;) I'm so fond of, so y'know, variable mileage on that one.  Perhaps the word you were looking for there was "devotion" rather than "work"?

Greetings all!

History: 20 year US Navy veteran, submarines.  11 years working for a major systems design company.  Father of two grown sons. Husband to the most incredible and understanding wife in the world.  US Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol retired veteran (retired as a Major). Superhero and comic book aficionado.  Founder of Major Deej Universe. Founder, writer, publisher, designer and editor for Major Deej Comics.  Now lives in Connecticut.

Spare Time: Writing Major Deej Comics.  Building the Major Deej Universe.  Computer games: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Civilization V and Marvel Heroes 2016 (or whatever year it is). Watch CW's Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Marvel's Agents of Shield, Agent Carter (this may be its last season), CBS' Survivor and Fox's Gotham. Working on house, yard and trying to figure out how to add 5 more hours in each day.

I started creating superhero and villain characters as early as 6 years of age.  Used the Mego-like action figures to create my own adventures, stories and scenarios (included DC and Marvel Mego figures, Big Jim and a couple GI Joes, Six Million Dollar Man and an oddball assortment of other cheap action figures). Imagination fueled each day's play and each day opened up more fun ideas for my figures.

Years went by, reality kicks in.  Studies and girls get more important.  Joined Civil Air Patrol cadet program, got my pilots license (and eventually glider's license) and made Cadet Lieutenant Colonel before high school graduation in California, my birth state.  Joined US Navy, rode subs on/off for 20 years, earned my bachelor's degree during that time in workforce education, retired and went to work with major business as a technical engineer/instructor.

Today, older and body is not what it used to be, thanks to decades of tough environments and knee surgeries.  Sons are grown, but still close to us.  Started rebuilding my childhood characters once again thanks to being introduced to the MMORPG, City of Heroes.  Fell in love with the game.  Started recreating and updating old characters.  Game shuts down, sadness kicks in.  Decided to build Major Deej Universe on a website and hopefully garner enough interest or spare time to write comics about them.

First comic series was under Major Deej Universe Comics line and called "The New Allied Fighters" in 2012.  Created 9 issues.  Thanks to MMO Comics Index, I was able to have a home for them to be read from (my website SUCKED for uploads, downloads and/or reading PDFs from).  Work went into overdrive with lots of travel; stopped writing.

Recently work slowed down enough for me to start writing again.  Started new comic line, Major Deej Comics, and started first issue with "Major Deej Universe:Origins" issue 1 in Jan 2016, followed by "Allied Fighters" issue 1 in February.

That's all I got for me.  Questions? Comments?  Let me know!

By the way, I'm proud to be part of this dedicated group.  All who've created and published comics here...its like a think tank of ideas, assistance and support for what we do.  Accolades to all who design, write and create on here!

- Don "Major Deej" Finger
