when you have comic in the title, I and I imagine others, are expecting actual comics.  Perhaps if your site segregated the comic inspired artwork from the actual comics
Thanks for you feedback Sin.
Cover posts appear on a Monday are labelled as such in the title and comics are posted on Wednesdays.
Both (and Trading Card Fridays, if and when I get round to recovering that data) are published in separate categories under the same site umbrella as per the tradition Frank established 12 years ago.

Given the both posts types are published roughly on parity, the majority of views are for the full issues and not split 50/50 across both categories, it suggests to me that visitors can and do easily discern the difference between them.
I won't argue that there's a smaller overall audience interested in the covers but with my time and energies limited and my interests currently away from games with an exploitable narrative or easily manipulated camera, covers is what I'm doing.  ;)

The creative player only came up with a faux comic cover instead of a full-blown comic.
Emphasis mine, but I find the qualifier used in this statement reductive.
Since even before my stewardship CoH COMICS has always had a policy of welcoming all submissions, comics, covers, trading cards and simple screenshots of situations that people found in that game and any other.
The suggestion in this editorial that the artwork we and our fellow hobbyists produce have any need to meet a "standard" in terms of quality or output to be considered worthy of being part of any community of creators is the complete antithesis of the goals the CCC site should be promoting and to present the commentary I've taken the above quote from as "news" is entirely disingenuous.

it doesn't even begin to compare with the work that goes into a complete publication.
I've been creating some Old Republic related images recently for which the workflow across...  six, no, seven... separate applications has been an insane amount of effort for one of those cheap fromages  ;) I'm so fond of, so y'know, variable mileage on that one.  Perhaps the word you were looking for there was "devotion" rather than "work"?

"Stop 'Batgirling' the comics and go back to meat-and-potatoes stories"?
Maybe they should stop to think about why folk like me are buying fewer DC titles than I probably have since 1985 then.
Batman Beyond, Bat-Mite, Bizzaro, Dr Fate plus Superman and Lois or whatever it'll be called are the only post-Convergence additions to my pull list.  Two of them are official mini series and another which will be lucky to see 9 issues, but it's the only one really set in their bland New 52 Stew.

Meanwhile Marvel are getting me to buy books about a big red dinosaur and Karnak.  Freakin' Karnak man!

Given that we're talking about DC, editorial mandate is standard operating procedure.
Then the brave new era of Divergentness apparently didn't last very long as that SOP you refer to was supposed to be one of the things being stamped out, along with mandated line-wide crossovers interrupting plotlines and writers being beholden to reflect the latest story beats of a characters home office at all times...  :(

I can't quite recall which title I was reading when I first came across this, but at first glance I thought it was part of the story!
Eventually I recalled the announcement that DC were going to do this, but I'm not sure I understand the point.  Does having two half page adds make folk buy more Twix's that a single full page add would?

Also, it sort of works with Twix because of the dual nature of the snack, but I'm struggling to think of many other products that benefit from this format...

Also, also, does it not sort of suggest the writer and/or penciller is being dictated to by editorial about how to lay out at least one of their pages to make it splitable?

I can't access any of the issues on your site.
Curious, it works when I try it on multiple devices.  Can you see the Home Page/Archive and just can't see anything when you click the links for the issues and covers themselves?
