Star Wars The Old Republic MMO
Star Wars: The Old Republic is a fantasy-themed MMO owned by Electronic Arts and LucasArts.
The MMO was developed by BioWare and released on December 20, 2011 based on characters and concepts in the Star Wars universe.
The MMO universe takes place 300 years after the events in "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" games and some 3500 years prior to the events seen in the "Star Wars" movies starting with "Episode I: The Phantom Menace". Players can choose to be either members of the Galactic Republic (Jedi) or the Sith Empire (Sith), although they can change their mortality between dark and light sides of the Force.
On November 15, 2012, the game changed from subscription-only to the hybrid free-to-play/pay-for-features/subscription-only model.
