New Purple Gang

The New Purple Gang is the name of an organized crime operation in Millennium City in the world of Champions Online MMO. They are easily identified by their purple-colored clothes.

Organization History

Nobody knows why they call themselves the "New" Purple Gang. There was no evidence of an "old" Purple Gang prior to the Battle of Detroit. But certainly the group picked up where several crime families left off before the disaster.

The group was first seen in Westside's Little Italy district hassling the rows of Italian restaurants for "protection money". They quickly spread to the nearby stores, expanding their scope and the crimes they were willing to commit. Perhaps the most arrogant of crimes is to shake down tourists who hang around the park just outside the Renaissance Center and charge people for "sightseeing fees" for the "privilege" of looking over Westside.

Today the New Purple Gang are ready and willing to deal with any crime except in drugs. (The reason why they have refrained from drug-dealing remains to be seen.) Their scope extends beyond Westside into parts of City Center. It is said that they have a rivalry with both VIPER and the psionic group known as PSI. Their rivalry with VIPER is over territory, while their hatred of PSI has more to do with the Gang's leader, Kevin Poe.
