Lawrence X. Technis is a character in the now-defunct City of Heroes MMO.
He is the longtime family friend and attorney to the Lothora family and serves as legal council to Lexie Lothora. He was also the former executor and guardian of LexieTech.
Character History
Lawrence Technis started as a young and ambitious lawyer with something to prove. Fresh from the second-highest graduation of the Bar Exam, he was handed to a senior partner who brought him into a very complex client: shipping magnate Leeland Lothora. Lothora's commercial empire was extensive in Paragon City, and not without some "family" connections. But his task was simple: watch over the "legal" businesses that Leeland had set up for his twin children, Alexander and Alexandra.
Sadly, when Leeland was implicated in doing business with The Family, those businesses were all that was left of the Lothora business empire. It was made worse when Leeland and his wife were separately killed following rumors of him "turning" on the Family. They weren't true, but it was still enough to make the two children orphans.
Lawrence took it upon himself to oversee the children himself. He made sure the sole surviving business - LexieTech - would be there for them.
It would be a job he would have to repeat following the death of Alexander Lothora, and the "breakdown" for Alexandra that resulted in her being "committed" for a period of time. Thankfully, her return to power allowed him to once again go into the shadows and work behind-the-scenes to continue to do his primary duty of protecting the company.
Powers and Abilities
Lawrence Technis has no real powers other than what is provided in the legal system.
Personality
Technis sees himself as a surrogate father to Lexie. He will do anything to help and especially to protect her.
He is the only one who can call Lexie by her full first name, and has been since she was a child.
Related Information
According to creator David 2, Lawrence Technis was inspired by the character of Tom Hagen in the film classic "The Godfather".
