This character is a villain in the world of Champions Online.

Doctor Destroyer is the premiere supervillain in the world of Champions Online. He is responsible for the destruction of the City of Detroit.

Character History

Almost from the moment he was born in 1917, Albert Zerstoiten knew he was better than any other human on the planet. For a while he thought the German government would recognize his superior intelligence, but in the midst of World War II, he realized that even they were inferior to him and were destined to fail. He defected for his own protection.

After helping develop the next generation of atomic weapons for the Cold War, he retreated from civilization to South America, where he built his empire based on weapons of mass destruction. His clients, criminal masterminds and warlords, only knew him as a shadowy "Doctor Destroyer". But even this was just a stepping-stone to his ultimate goals.

In the 1980's he began his quest for world domination. Using the wealth he acquired from his weapons, he created an army of robot soldiers and built the most advanced body-armor in the world. He thought this would be enough, but he had divorced himself from the world too much, and he discovered that the heroes of the world were quick to stop his plans.

The battles between his robotic forces and the heroes lasted for over a decade, finally culminating in the Battle of Detroit in 1992. He was defeated and believed dead, but not before he unleashed his revenge on the people of Detroit. Meteors rained down from Destroyer's space-based orbital gun, killing thousands and laying waste to the majority of the city.

Time passes, and Millennium City is built atop the ruins of Detroit.

Then rumors began to circulate... Doctor Destroyer is back!

But is this still Albert Zerstoiten? Or is it someone else?
