Captain Anderson Lynch is a character in the world of Champions Online MMO.

He is a seasoned operative for the United Nations Tribunal on International Law's Project Citadel.

Character History

According to his own accounts, Anderson Lynch was an ordinary child living an ordinary life in an ordinary suburban town when a dimensional portal from the Qliphothic Plane opened up in front of him. The event horizon cut into his head and through his right eye. For what seemed to be an eternity, young Anderson had to watch as nightmarish creatures poured through that portal right in front of him before the heroes could eventually arrive and drive the creatures back. When the portal finally closed, the heroes found a collapsed child in pain and trauma.

Lynch was in the hospital for six months while the doctors evaluated his condition. They feared he suffered brain damage because of the event, but thankfully it only left him with a scar across his right eye. Eventually his eye would again work, but it would never be the same.

Remnants of the portal remained in his head and in his eye. This gave him the ability to see beyond normal sight, to see where other dimensions previously opened. He could also see who came from other dimensions.

When the United Nations organization Project Citadel learned of this, they quickly recruited the teenager into their ranks. They trained him, showed him how to use his power to the maximum ability, and sent him out to find those who are in this world "illegally".

In the years that followed, Lynch became good at ferreting out people from other universes. His ability to interrogate others made him a ruthless interviewer. His name was fearsome within the ranks of U.N.T.I.L. as he enjoyed the full authority given to Project Citadel under United Nations Security Council directives.

When it was brought to his attention that the matter of the escape of the interdimensional assassin Mister Blue went unresolved, Lynch saw this to go after someone that he only heard of but was not able to locate: Agent Sidestep.

After interviewing Major Cross of Project Mycroft and commandeering his workstation for his investigation, he quickly discovered that Galatea Future was from another reality as well. He ordered Galatea to be detained, hoping it would bring out Sidestep. When it didn't he went after Galatea's attorney, Candace Sinclair. Only when he threatened Sinclair with arrest did he find himself teleported to another universe.

Lynch arrived in a strange universe under rules that should not exist. There, Sidestep introduced Lynch to the Council of Light, Sidestep's superiors.

Hours later, Lynch returned to his own universe, and somewhat changed by the experience. He now had a new mission. He now serves as the liaison between U.N.T.I.L. and the Council of Light.

Powers and Abilities

Lynch is an otherwise ordinary person with one exception. Due to the incident when he was a child, his right eye can now see remnants of dimensional energy. This can allow him to see events that happened around the area of a recent dimensional incursion as well as detect those that have been to or came from other dimensions.

In addition to his unusual ability, Lynch is fully trained in small arms and automatic weapons. He is also skilled in interviewing and interrogation. He knows how to pry information out of people.

Personality

For the longest time, Lynch was a dimensional nativist, having a prejudicial dislike of those from other realities, no matter how similar they may be. This can be traced back to the trauma he incurred as a child. He has no social life because of the trauma. He lived Project Citadel, 24-7.

It is unknown how much of that has changed after his initial meeting with the Council of Light.
