The Awakened Division is a special branch of the Paragon City Police Department that uses Kheldian hybrids as police officers.
Not long after the Kheldians made their presence known to Earth, Paragon City Police Chief Conrad Bochco came up with the idea of allowing the energy-based beings to merge with police officers to create super-powered law enforcers.
The Kheldians approved this idea, and soon the "Awakened Division" was created, with the very first Kheldian hybrid police officer being Dreadlaw.
Following the abuses of Dreadlaw, control of the division was moved to Blue Steel for a few years before it was passed on to Captain Paragonna.
