			Under his new name and fake credentials, Bill McCade quickly discovered how to rise in the ranks of the famed NYPD. He stuck to what he was good at, which was to close cases quickly. He rose to the rank of sergeant faster than any new hire to the department. He also learned that New York heroes were not like the ones in Paragon City. Their hero groups were broken thanks to [[Alice Banks]] and her pro-family organization. Heroes were not as active there as in other cities.

			In 2013, McCade got a call from [[Thomas Wield\|Deputy Chief Thomas Wield]]. Wield wanted McCade to "come home" so he could help carry out his plans to remove the heroes from Paragon City. It would be a quiet transfer, one that only Wield could arrange. McCade was also quickly brought in as vice-president of the police union, which ensured that he would be supported by all members of the police department.

			It wasn't long before McCade began to do what he was best known for doing, which was close cases. Specifically, he would close strange homicides that were reported in places like [[Perez Park]]. Female victims that would be found with no forms of ID. McCade would have a "story" to explain those bodies rather quickly. As before, it didn't have to be the truth. It just had to be closed.

			His quick rate of case closures also afforded him the luxury of his other pastime, which was preying on women. As the street gangs began to include more young girls, McCade took it upon himself to "teach them a lesson". But soon this extended to girlfriends of gang members, and, eventually to regular civilians. There would always be a "reason" for his actions, such as a "noise complaint" or a "funny smell". But the other cops had his back, and "the system" would make sure he would get away with it.

			Eventually his actions - and his hobbies - got the attention of street vigilante [[Jason Knight]]. Despite Knight's history, McCade was not impressed by the street vigilante, given how Knight was deprived of his dark mist powers. McCade used that knowledge and the support of his "brothers in blue" to humble Knight when he was threatened.

			That incident further emboldened McCade to go after female heroes, targeting a young hero named [[Streetangel]], not knowing that she was really a professional decoy agent hired to get the evidence against McCade. Streetangel's hidden recordings of his harassment would be leaked on the Internet, and the resulting public pressure was enough to finally force McCade to resign from the police department.

			He is still seen in Paragon City, though, and he has not resigned as vice-president of the police union. One wonders what he is doing now that he no longer has the badge he uses as his excuse.

			As the years progressed, Cade and the rest of the Blue Dogs enjoyed unchallenged authority to do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and with whomever they wanted. The only rule was to not cross another cop. It was a rule that ended up costing them.

			A patrolman who saw the Blue Dogs in action reported them to Internal Affairs. Although IA made the evidence disappear and dismissed the charges, Cade decided to teach this patrolman a near-fatal lesson. Left for dead, the patrolman would merge with a Nictus entity and become the Warshade known as [[Sundown]]. Sundown would eventually get the evidence needed for the [[Libertarian Avenger]] and [[Jimmy Hellfighter]] to charge the Blue Dogs with corruption and attempted murder.

			Cade faced criminal charges, but a quiet deal arranged by certain [[Shadowborn\|"friends"]] allowed him to simply disappear.
